Racing Through Life: Amber Eberspeaker’s Story of Family, Sacrifice, and Speed
For Michigan racer Amber Eberspeaker, racing has never just been a hobby. It’s been part of her life for as long as she can remember.
Growing up in a racing family, Amber was introduced to motorsports through her grandfather and father, both of whom were involved in racing long before she ever climbed behind the wheel. Her grandfather even built a go-kart track at his marina, giving Amber the perfect place to fall in love with speed at a young age.
By the time she was five or six years old, Amber was already racing go-karts herself.
That passion quickly grew into something much bigger.
Over the years, Amber raced modifieds, street stocks, and four cylinders while building a life centered around family, racing, and perseverance. But her journey hasn’t been without challenges.
One of the most emotional moments in her racing career came when she made the difficult decision to sell her beloved street stock so her sons could continue racing. Like many mothers, Amber put her children first without hesitation.
“I enjoy watching my kids race,” Amber shared during the interview.
Today, both of her older sons race alongside her, making racing a true family affair.
Amber also opened up about the realities of balancing motorsports and motherhood, especially while raising a young daughter who has already become a familiar face at the racetrack. Her daughter Camberlyn — fittingly named after race car alignment terminology — attends races regularly and has become part of the family’s racing lifestyle.
For Amber, racing is more than competition.
“It’s my outlet,” she explained. “Once I get in that race car, all my stress goes away.”
That feeling is something many racers understand completely.
Amber also discussed the friendships built through motorsports, the lessons racing teaches, and the excitement of traveling to new tracks. One highlight from last season was competing at Kokomo Speedway, where she battled her way forward against tough competition before being caught up in an incident.
As the new season approaches, Amber plans to race again at I-96 Speedway while sharing a car with her son.
Through every challenge, heartbreak, and victory, one thing remains constant: Amber’s love for racing.
And like so many women in motorsports, she continues proving that determination, passion, and family can all exist in the same pit area.
