From Fan to Driver: How Kelly Coss Is Chasing Her Racing Dream
In motorsports, it’s easy to believe that if you didn’t start young, you’ve already missed your chance.
Kelly Coss is here to prove that wrong.
At 20 years old, Kelly is an A-Class micro sprint driver who didn’t grow up racing—but instead found her way into the sport through passion, determination, and opportunity.
A Love for Racing That Started Early
Kelly’s journey began in the stands, watching her dad race snowmobiles and attending dirt track races every Friday night. Like many fans, she dreamed of being behind the wheel—but never thought it would actually happen.
The Moment Everything Changed
After meeting her now-husband, who raced micro sprints, Kelly was introduced to a new side of the sport. When he encouraged her to get behind the wheel, everything changed.
She took the leap—and never looked back.
Learning from the Ground Up
Starting at 18 meant learning everything from scratch:
- Car control
- Race strategy
- Track awareness
- Confidence
And for Kelly, confidence has been the biggest challenge.
But also the biggest growth area.
Racing Is More Than Winning
Kelly and her team, K&K Racing, operate with one core goal:
👉 Have fun
Because at the end of the day, racing isn’t just about results—it’s about the experience, the people, and the journey.
A Message for Future Racers
Kelly’s advice for girls and women:
“You don’t have to start young. Just start.”
And that message is exactly what the Women’s Motorsports Network is all about.
